World's Largest Candle, Centerville, IN

This roadside attraction was another one that was hard to miss! While driving along I-70, you can see this one in enough time to take the exit and check it out. The gigantic candle sitting outside serves to stir curiosity, but is also a preview of what is housed inside.  

Located at the Warm Glow Candle Co Outlet in Centerville, IN is what is being considered the World's Largest Candle. Although I cannot find measurements anywhere, it is most definitely HUGE!!! Though not real, it is a cool photo op in the day, lights up at night and is a beautiful display of what the real ones are like inside the building that are available for purchase.

Alan & Jackie Carberry created Warm Glow Candle Company in the basement of their home in 1994. Their goal was to create their vision of a perfect candle. After many tedious months of working with several combinations, they finally accomplished their goal and succeeded in creating a candle that is highly fragrant, long lasting, clean burning, and cost effective. They had a candle they were proud to give the name, “Warm Glow.”

Here is the cool part! This location is not only a candle shop, it is a ton of fun all in one place! There is a coffee cafe', wine corner, ice cream and treats shop, artisan crafts area, koi pond, cage filled with live cooing peafowls, beautiful gardens....just a lovely place all around! 22,000 square feet of a store and has been told by many that they have the cleanest restrooms along I-70. 


Walking through the doors, the inside world opens to this! It's like you are outside..but not.




The beginning of the many candles throughout the store. The chunkiness and scents are wonderful for any kind of decor, especially country or primitive.

The cherry on top of this awesome place....A cage of Pea Fowls! Let's ignore the fact that I had not the slightest idea of what a pea fowl is. I assume it is part of the peacock family. Interesting and beautiful, without a doubt.

Old Gas Station/Garage House, Terre Haute, IN

  When my husband and I were planning our summer road trip in the midst of the pandemic, we were having a hard time finding any fun out and about. Water parks were closed, theme parks..closed. Even hotels were for essential workers at the time. So, what would any mom of 8 do in this situation? Find the fun where you can! My first thought to myself was, "Wonder if there are any places out there that you can stay where the stay itself is a ton of fun?" I immediately went to "Home Away" to see what I could rustle up that wouldn't break the bank. That is when I came across this place.... First look at this place and we knew we needed to stay here!!! Giant Chair...Richmond, IN

A giant chair? Well...I just have to see this!  Located in Richmond, IN, this very welcoming piece to "sit a spell" is just outside the door of Richmond Furniture Gallery. Unfortunately, you are not able to actually sit in it (boo), but it is very cool to see and you do walk under it to enter.  We heard that the Depot District, located in this area is a lovely place to walk through and has amazing town murals, but it was raining when we visited so I chose to jump out and grab this pic and save the rest for another time when we have nice weather.  If you are ever in the area, be sure to stop by 180 Fort Wayne Ave and have a look.
